Aaron Lukoff
The emphasis of Aaron Lukoff’s law practice is civil and criminal traffic defense, criminal defense, personal injury, real estate law, and business law.
Born and raised in Seattle, Aaron has made his home in Bellingham for 28+ years. He earned his undergraduate degree in linguistics from the University of Washington before attending Seattle University School of Law. After receiving his J.D., Aaron moved back to Bellingham to start his legal career.
He is a practicing member of the Washington State Bar Association, the Swinomish Tribal Bar Association, the Lummi Tribal Bar Association, the Whatcom County Bar Association, and the U.S. Federal Bar Association of the Western District in Washington. He has successfully represented clients in courts in 34 of the 39 counties in the state of Washington.
In addition to his successful private practice, Aaron is a former tort law instructor in the paralegal program at Whatcom Community College. He has also lectured at the Seattle University Law School and remains a member of the Seattle University Law School Alumni, the University of Washington Alumni, and the Western Washington University Alumni.
Aaron lives with his wife and his dog in Bellingham.
David Kennedy
David Kennedy was born in Bellingham, Washington, and grew up in Whatcom County. While in high school, David attended Whatcom Community College through the Running Start program and graduated cum laude with an Associate in Arts and Sciences degree in 1994.
In 1998, David entered Western Washington University, where he completed a major in Philosophy and minors in Latin, Greek, and Classical Studies. While at Western, he made the President’s List, which recognizes a 4.0 GPA, for nine consecutive quarters. David graduated magna cum laude in 2001 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Philosophy.
In 2003, David moved to Seattle to attend Seattle University School of Law. While there, he served as an editor on the Seattle University Law Review. David received his Juris Doctor in 2006, graduating magna cum laude.
After taking the bar, David moved back to Bellingham, where he began practicing personal injury and criminal defense in private practice. He is a member of the Washington State Bar Association and the Federal Bar Association, Western District of Washington. The focus of David’s practice is personal injury, criminal defense, and civil infractions. He also has experience in administrative hearings, civil forfeitures and landlord/tenant law.
In addition to practicing law, David practices being a dad, and enjoys spending almost all of his free time with his wife and three young boys.
Danielle Walker Cohen was born in Bellingham, Washington, and graduated from Bellingham High School in 1998.
Danielle graduated from the University of Washington in 2003 with majors in Political Science and Law, Societies & Justice, and a minor in Human Rights. After graduating from UW, she moved to be with family in Berkeley, California, and worked as a paralegal for Stoel Rives in San Francisco.
In 2006, Danielle returned to Seattle to attend Seattle University School of Law. She received her Juris Doctor in 2009, graduating magna cum laude. After taking the bar, Danielle worked in public defense for 12 years for both the Whatcom County Public Defender and Thurston County Public Defense. She has worked in all manners of criminal defense in district, superior, and juvenile courts.
Danielle joined the Law Offices of Aaron M. Lukoff & Associates in 2021, where she continues to practice criminal defense.
Julie M. Levitt-Guren, who uses she/her pronouns, was raised in Chicago and Miami, and attended the University of Miami and its School of Law. While in law school, she served as a staff member of one law review and the editor-in-chief of another. A student comment she co-authored, Much Ado About 1782: A Look at the Recent Problems with Discovery in the United States for Use in Foreign Litigation under 28 U.S.C. § 1782, has been cited repeatedly by: federal courts, in amicus briefing to the Supreme Court of the United States, and by numerous other law reviews and other commentaries.
Julie clerked for trial and appellate court judges and lectured criminal defense associations on various topics in criminal law. She served as an assistant public defender for more than 12 years in two states, handling both trial and appellate court cases, and as an assistant attorney general for almost three years. She has handled and consulted on civil trial and appellate cases. She previously worked as an editor at a large software manufacturer on the east side of Seattle and as in-house counsel at a dotcom based in Ballard, where she handled all manner of corporate matters, coordinating with outside counsel.
John Hicks works with The Law Offices of Aaron M. Lukoff & Associates on specific cases.
